Management Team
Lonnie Tomerlin, President & CEO, has over 45 years of executive and engineering experience in the telecommunications industry, with emphasis on microwave radio. Throughout his career of primarily engineering, furnish, and installation (EF&I) of complete microwave systems, Lonnie has designed over 1000+ microwave links. Headquartered in Pleasanton, Texas, Lonnie is responsible for all corporate operations including sales, marketing, engineering, and field operations. Lonnie began his career in telecommunications at Valero Energy installing and maintaining microwave systems, before moving up to his last position with the company as Vice President, and embarking on his own as an entrepreneur in the microwave EF&I business for the last 35 years. Lonnie has extensive experience in EF&I
projects, with emphasis on microwave relocation projects. Lonnie and his
company were heavily involved with the 1.8 GHz PCS microwave relocations in the 1990's, and is uniquely qualified and heavily involved
today in the 2.1 GHz AWS microwave relocations.
Sam Savage, Vice President & Director of Field Operations, has over 26 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with primary emphasis on microwave radio. Sam began his career in the microwave industry in field installation, testing, and maintenance with an engineer, furnish, and install (EF&I) company. Sam moved up in his career to Project Manager, Proposals Engineer, and Field Services Manager, before settling into his current position. Sam has extensive expertise with all aspects of microwave radio EF&I projects, including engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, acceptance, and document preparation. Sam is highly proficient in microwave radio systems and path engineering, including field path surveys. Sam is responsible for all internal and field operations, which include day-to-day operations, field operations, engineering, and revenue responsibility for the company. Sam has an Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and hold certifications with many telecommunications equipment manufacturers. Sam has also attended numerous microwave transmission seminars and equipment schools throughout his career in microwave.
Joseph Mendoza, Ph.D., PMP, Vice President, has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Dr. Mendoza has numerous years of expertise in microwave and satellite communications. He has previously held positions such as Departmental Director, PMO manager and program manager of a seven country project. He has extensive experience in managing staff, customers, vendors, and agent/contractors. His experience has included contract writing, contract negotiations, and management of resulting programs. He is multi-lingual (presently English, French, and Spanish) and formerly conversational in Japanese and Arabic. He has previously served in various executive level positions at nationally-recognized companies both domestic and international. Some of these companies include GTE-ISC, Comsat, Harris International, Teligent Inc., Winstar International, and NexTel to name a few. Dr. Mendoza is responsible for creating new business development opportunities, including government projects. He received his Ph.D., MBA, and BS in Business from California Coast University and the University of Oklahoma, and an ASET in Electronic Technology from Grantham Engineering College. Dr. Mendoza also holds many industry certifications.
Don Savage, Chief Microwave Engineer, has over 50 years of executive and engineering experience in the telecommunications industry, with primary emphasis on microwave radio. Don began his career in field installation, testing, and maintenance, and later transitioned to sales, engineering, and executive management. Don has many years of experience working for microwave equipment manufacturers, state government, and engineer, furnish, and install (EF&I) firms in various positions of engineering, sales, and management. Don is an industry-recognized microwave transmission engineer and path survey expert, and served 12 years at Farinon Electric, now known as Aviat Networks. Don has designed literally hundreds of microwave paths with tremendous success, both domestically and internationally. Don has extensive experience with microwave path engineering, field path surveys, systems engineering, and the implementation of microwave system installations and relocations. Don is responsible for all path engineering, path survey, system engineering, frequency coordination, PCN, as well as any FAA and FCC regulatory filings. Don earned an Associate Degree in Radio and TV Communications at DeVry Technical Institute, and completed course work in Telecommunications Basics at Capitol Radio Engineering Institute. Additionally, Don has attended numerous microwave transmission seminars throughout his career in microwave.
Mark Trotta, Director of Sales, has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with emphasis on microwave radio. Mark began his telecom career in sales and sales management with Motorola C & E. He is an accomplished sales management professional, having served the vast majority of his career in the microwave industry with Granger Associates, Digital Switch Corporation, Stratex Networks, and Nera USA. Mark has held senior level positions of Director of Sales and Vice President of Sales throughout his career. He is highly-skilled in acquiring new opportunities and building long-term relationships with customers, in addition to establishing and managing large OEM vendor relationships. Mark is responsible for sales, business development, vendor partnership agreements, and increasing overall market awareness for the company. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Baker University.
B.J. Baldwin, Director of Microwave Services, has over 29 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with emphasis on microwave radio. B.J. began his telecom career with an engineering and contracting firm in sales and management positions, and quickly had to learn, adapt, and function as a Microwave Engineer/ Sales Engineer. He has experience in applications engineering and microwave path engineering, as well as a background that includes satellite communications, two-way radio, fiber optics, and SCADA. B.J. is responsible for site surveys, site walks, and for ongoing support of engineering, project management, sales, and marketing for the company. Throughout his career B.J. has attended numerous microwave and satellite engineering courses, seminars, and radio schools.
David Brown, Manager of Fiber Services, has over 22 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. David is highly proficient in the design of fiber optic and copper outside plant cabling systems, SONET, Telecom Circuit Design for leased and private networks (e.g., DS0, DS1, DS3), and Wi-MAX Installations. David is also experienced in the design of telecommunications facilities to include buildings, access roads, grounding, tower foundations, and utilities. David began his career as a designer of fiber optic and copper cable routes, SCADA radio systems, and microwave radio facility plans. Through his career, David has worked as a Designer, Project Manager, Sr. Technical Analyst, primarily in the electric utility industry. David is responsible for all design, proposals, supervision, and construction and acceptance testing of fiber optic projects. Additionally, David is our CAD Manager and our resident Permitting expert. David holds a Master of Arts Degree in General Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Drafting, and has attended numerous industry schools and seminars. David is also a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), a Registered Outside Plant Design Specialist (RCDD/OSP), and well versed in Project Management (TMPA).
